The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a woman’s body was found Monday morning.
The body was discovered around 7 a.m. behind a commercial building in the 4800 block of Ward Road in unincorporated Jefferson County, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
Investigators are calling the death suspicious. The coroner’s office will perform an autopsy Tuesday to determine cause and manner of death.
The sheriff’s office said no further information will be released until a positive identification is made and a next of kin is notified.
