A plane flies past a full moon, Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Nuremberg, Germany. Tuesday’s full moon, or supermoon, appeared brighter and bigger than other full moons because it was close to its perigee, which is the closest point in its orbit to Earth.

Tuesday night, the super snow moon rose above cities from Denver to Lisbon. It was the largest full moon of 2019. There won’t be another supermoon this large until 2026. This year has coming up. The next one of note will be the Eta Aquarids meteor shower May 5-6.
