

After Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone won his last UFC bout in January, the Colorado native seemed destined to land a fight — and a significant payday — against former featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
“If these two want to fight, I’m in,” UFC president Dana White told ESPN in January.
Fast forward several weeks and the fight sits in limbo. Cerrone, 35, last week told ESPN that the holdup is that McGregor “won’t fight unless it’s a main event.”
McGregor, 30, has been serving a six-month suspension after the melee that incurred after his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov. To complicate matters, Mcgregor on Monday was arrested — again — this time on charges of allegedly destroying and taking the cellphone of someone trying to take his picture.
Cerrone said he was going to fight someone by July 6, regardless of if it’s McGregor or not, according to ESPN. The latest candidate? Perhaps a bout against one of McGregor’s past opponents in .
