Elderly man succumbs to injuries from two-vehicle Aurora crash last week

A second person died from his injuries from the March 20 crash

An 86-year-old man died of injuries he suffered from a crash in Aurora last week, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The man, who has not been identified, died on Monday, police said. He is the second person involved in the crash who was killed.

The crash occurred in the evening of March 20 at the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Blackhawk Street, police said previously.

One person was declared dead at the scene and a person from a second vehicle was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police said one of the vehicles was driving eastbound on East Iliff Avenue toward South Blackhawk Street as the second was driving westbound on East Iliff Street, planning to turn on South Blackhawk street. The two vehicles crashed into each other at the intersection.

The investigation is still ongoing, police said on Wednesday.
