One person was killed, and an Adams County deputy and the driver of another car were injured Thursday morning in a head-on collision, authorities said.
The identities of the deceased, the deputy and the other driver have not been released.
The crash happened near Colorado 79 and East 88th Avenue.
The deputy was in a marked patrol car when the crash happened. It’s unclear what caused the crash, said Trooper Gary Cutler, a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
The deputy was walking around after the crash but taken to a hospital out of precaution, Cutler said.
Colorado 79 and East 88th Avenue are closed during the investigation.
We are investigating a serious injury crash at Colorado 79 and 88th Avenue so please stay clear of that area if possible.
