Over the past week in Denver, we’ve learned about regional brunch expansions, international brunch pop-ups and everyday neighborhood brunch spots opening up. Now, in the midst of the 2019 brunch bubble, a local restaurant specializing in the late-morning meal has closed shop.

Two-year-old Morning Collective at 2160 S. Broadway via Facebook on Monday. was the first to report.

But the announcement also hinted at a second life for the Rosedale brunch business. “We are grateful for your support and are excited to bring you something new in May…keep an eye out!” the post read.

Co-owner Zach Stock confirmed to The Denver Post over email that Morning Collective will re-open in May in the same building, with a different concept and serving more than just breakfast and lunch.

He said the restaurant, as it stood, “wasn’t fully meeting the needs of the neighborhood.”

“So while we will still have a breakfast component, the new concept will be catering to the neighborhood’s needs for all meals and will offer a robust delivery and to go component,” he added.

Regarding the next menu, Stock said Morning Collective’s “much loved” house tater tots will be featured. Stay tuned for more on the tots and the new concept.
