The Denver District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday filed charges against a driver involved in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian last week after the Colorado Rockies home opener.

Jerek Fabjancic, 29, of Golden, has been charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene involving death and other charges, the district attorney’s office said in a news release.

On April 5, Fabjancic was driving a red Toyota truck southbound on Blake Street when he allegedly ran a red light at 15th Street and collided with a pedestrian, Denver police previously said.

The victim was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Fabjancic allegedly fled the scene after the incident and was arrested in Golden Saturday morning.
