You could watch the third day of the NFL draft on Saturday while sprawled on your sofa, but wouldn’t you rather be part of the draft at a ski area party?

The Broncos and the folks at Winter Park Resort are betting you might, so the team will announce its four fourth- and fifth-round picks live at Mary Jane, and the NFL Network will be there to televise it. The plan is for former Broncos safety David Bruton and two adaptive skiers from Winter Park’s internationally known National Sports Center for the Disabled to ski down to the base area with the picks, surrounded by an orange-and-blue throng enjoying a day of spring skiing.

The forecast Saturday is mostly sunny there with temperatures in the 40s. Winter Park is currently reporting five lifts in operation at Mary Jane, serving 64 trails. Discounted lift tickets for the party will cost $59.

“Fans wearing Broncos gear may have an opportunity to be incorporated into one of the team’s Day 3 selections,” the Broncos said in a news release. That appears to be a hint that a fan might be selected at random to ski down with one of the four picks.

Miles the Broncos mascot will be there along with the Broncos cheerleaders, and there will be shirt-and-foam finger giveaways. The Broncos announced their Day 3 selections live last year at a party at Casa Bonita.
