Motorcyclist dies in crash with vehicle on Santa Fe Drive in Denver

The motorcyclist’s passenger, vehicle driver were transported to a hospital

A motorcyclist died in a crash with another vehicle Saturday and two people were transported to a hospital, according to Denver police.

The crash occurred late Saturday afternoon in the Overland neighborhood near Santa Fe Drive and Iowa Avenue when the driver of a motorcycle ran a red light at a high rate of speed, Officer Carlos Montoya said.

The motorcycle driver was going northbound and the other car was driving westbound turning south on Santa Fe Drive, he said.

The passenger of the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and the driver of the vehicle unknown injuries, Montoya said.
