

Professional golfer grew up in Basalt, in the Colorado mountains, and is making a name for himself during his rookie season on the PGA Tour.
Knous has had a nice run, with one top-10 finish early at the season at the Safeway Open, and he recently logged back-to-back top-13 finishes, two weeks ago in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and last week in the Wells Fargo Championship.
Knous, also known as “Hard K” on the tour, played his collegiate golf for the Orediggers at Colorado School of Mines. Knous is using his civil engineering degree from Mines to assist in improving his golf game as he looks to win his first PGA Tour title.
The Basalt native is getting some recognition from his stellar play as he is being featured on an episode of .
When Knous isn’t grinding in the golf course, you can find him in Littleton.
Downtime for Knous consists of playing with his son, Brady, and cooking dinner with his wife, Heidi whom he considers a “really good cook.” Heidi, meanwhile, considers Jim the “grill master.”
