The family members killed in a triple homicide Thursday night in their southwest Denver home have been identified.

Joseph McDaniels, 48; Althea McDaniels, 37; and Christine McDaniels, 11, were shot to death in their home at 3090 South Golden Way, the Denver Medical Examiner’s officer reported.  The three were husband, wife and child. Another adult was also shot but survived his injuries, police said.

Christine McDaniels attended Traylor Academy elementary school. The family was in the process of moving to Mississippi, according to neighbors.

A young boy ran from the home to a neighbor’s house to call 911 and report that his family members had been shot.

Bustaman Kartabrata, 59, was arrested on suspicion of three first-degree murder charges. He is being held without bond.

The McDaniels family members who were killed died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

The Denver District Attorney’s Office expects to receive the case from the Denver Police Department on Wednesday for the official filing of charges, a DA’s spokeswoman said.
