Aurora police redirected traffic on East 38th Avenue because of a gas line break Tuesday afternoon.

The road was closed from Tower Road to Windsor Drive in both directions for almost three hours on Tuesday. The road reopened around 3:20 p.m., police said on Twitter.

A two-inch gas line was cut shortly before 12:30 p.m. at a construction site in the industrial area, said Aurora Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sherri-Jo Stowell.

No injuries were reported, Stowell said.

Crews from Xcel arrived at the site to clamp the gas line break and do mitigation work.
