For one series, it was like the humidor didn’t exist at Coors Field.
The Rockies and the Padres combined for an incredible 92 runs in their series. It was the most in a four-game series since 1900, breaking the 88 totaled by the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies in 1929, according to the Rockies.
Here’s a look at some of the other numbers they put up:
- Colorado’s 48 runs were the third most in a four-game series in franchise history (the record is 52 back in 1996 against the Dodgers).
- The Rockies totaled 69 hits, tying their mark in 1996 against the Dodgers.
- The 44 runs allowed by Colorado is tied for the third-most in franchise history.
- Colorado pitchers allowed 62 hits, tying the mark for most in franchise history.
- Charlie Blackmon had an absurd 15 hits in the series, the most in a four-game series in the modern era.
