Another storm system will bring rain showers and thunderstorms and hail and heavy rain to isolated areas of the Denver metro area late Monday afternoon, national weather forecasters said.

There’s a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 85 degrees, said meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The chance for rain will decrease in the evening as the skies gradually become clear, the NWS said.

Hail and heavy rain is most likely to occur on the Eastern Plains.

A long stretch of cloudy, rainy weather will be interrupted on Tuesday when the high temperature will be around 89 degrees under sunny skies, forecasters said.

Denver will be slightly cooler on Wednesday, when a few stray clouds will bring some rain and thunderstorms to the metro area. There’s a 20 percent chance of evening storms.

Temperatures will pop right back up into the 90s on Thursday, when there will be a high of about 93 degrees, the NWS said.

The high temperatures on Friday and through the weekend will be in the lower 90s, the NWS said.

Between Friday and Sunday, rain and thunderstorms are possible.
