The Avalanche are holding on to a young prospect who made his NHL debut with Colorado last season.

Defenseman Ryan Graves has re-signed with the Avalanche on a one-year contract, the team announced Monday. The contract is worth $750,000 in the NHL and $350,000 in the minors, .

Graves, 24, was acquired by the Avs via trade with the Rangers in February 2018 in a swap of American Hockey League prospects.

The Nova Scotia, Canada, native was promoted to the Avalanche roster last December and he appeared in 26 games with three goals and two assists. Graves also played in 32 regular season games for the AHL’s Colorado Eagles with two goals and seven assists. He is a former 2013 fourth-round NHL draft selection.
