Jefferson County deputies placed one person in custody following a shooting inside a Conifer home in which a person was injured and taken to the hospital early Thursday morning, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
The condition of the shooting victim is not known. However, their injuries are not considered life-threatening. The person’s name and gender have not been released.
“It’s a shot’s fired call so we are taking appropriate action in such a serious situation,” said Mike Taplin, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Neighbors of the home in the 25000 block of Snyder Avenue near Aspen Park in Conifer called 911 around 5 a.m. and reported they heard gunshots, Taplin said.
Regarding the incident on Snyder Avenue, one person was injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One suspect is in custody. The area with be an active crime scene for now so please continue to avoid the area while we investigate
