FORT COLLINS — A district court has ruled that Colorado authorities responded correctly in declining to release unedited footage of a shooting.

The Coloradoan Wednesday that the mother of a man fatally shot by authorities filed a complaint in December 2018 against the Colorado State University Police Department asking to release unredacted footage of the encounter.

Officials say Susan Holmes’ 19-year-old son, Jeremy, was shot by a Fort Collins police officer and a university police officer during a confrontation in July 2017.

A district attorney cleared the officers of any wrongdoing following an investigation.

Colorado State University officials say the courtap ruling speaks for itself and that they “have no additional comment.”

Susan Holmes did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
