The Centennial State celebrates its 143rd birthday on Thursday with a free event at.
From alpacas to mascots to trivia with Smokey Bear, there will be more than 20 attractions.Oh, and who can forget the balloons, birthday cake, a bounce house, live music, Folklorico Dancers and story time at this carnivalesque gathering fit for an entire state.
This year’s Colorado Day celebration includes a first-time outdoor block party. No word yet on when the “Happy Birthday” song will be sung.
The event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., although the block party closes at 2:30 p.m. No advance registration is required.
