The Denver Fire Department put out an exterior fire near West Colfax Avenue and I-25 on Wednesday afternoon. Smoke from the fire could be seen around Denver and prompted several people to share photos and video.

There were no injuries, Denver Fire Captain Greg Pixley said.

Sparks from the electrical transformer dropped to the ground, starting the fire, according to a tweet from the department. The fire slightly damaged the outside of the building but there were no injuries, the department said.

The fire broke out at Atlas Steel in the 1800 block of West Colfax Avenue, according to a tweet from the department.

Pixley said that exterior fires like this are fairly common, and despite producing a lot of smoke it was not a serious incident.
