Count Tony Romo in the camp of Broncos believers this season.

Speaking on Mad Dog Sports Radio with Adam Schein on Thursday, the former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS NFL analyst talked up Denver as a possible darkhorse contender in the AFC.

What does Romo like most about Denver? The addition of coach and his defensive acumen and the team’s trade for veteran quarterback , a guy “a lot of teams should’ve gotten this offseason.”

“Vic Fangio… I think he’ll show how great of a head coach he is,” Romo said. “They have leadership on offense. They have a great defensive coordinator, a great defensive player (in ).

“If they keep Flacco upright and they can block for him, this is going to be a tough team, especially if you have to go to Denver.”

Of course, Romo did lead off the segment by saying “I’m not into predicting anything,” which anyone who’s ever watched one of his CBS broadcasts .
