A 21-year-old woman was sentenced to life plus 16 years in prison for her role in a robbery in which a 27-year-old Edgewater man was shot and killed in a parking lot of a restaurant where he had gone to pick up barbecue for dinner.

Alicia Elena Valdez is not eligible for parole in the death of Andrew Jenicek in Edgewater, a Jefferson County District Attorney’s news release said. She was sentenced on Friday.

Two accomplices, Caleb Joseph Vigil, 20, and Devon Drizzt Howard, 22, already have been convicted and sentenced in Jenicek’s April 5, 2018, murder.

Valdez had conspired with Vigil and Howard to rob someone with a gun they obtained a few days earlier, the district attorney’s news release said.

Vigil got out of a car to rob Jenicek and in the process shot him in the chest, the release said. Howard then drove over Jenicek and the three fled the area in the car, the release said.

Howard was sentenced to life plus 279 years in prison, and Vigil got life plus 118 years in prison.
