Water pipe on Colorado Boulevard repaired, all lanes expected to reopen by Thursday evening

Denver Water crews expect to have all water main break repairs completed at Colorado Boulevard and Mississippi Avenue before the Thursday evening rush hour.

The 12″ water pipe was repaired and water was restored to nearby businesses at 4:30 a.m., according to a 5:50 a.m. Twitter post from Denver Water.

Crews are continuing to do work on the road and expect to have all lanes back open before the evening rush hour.

The water line break occurred Wednesday, with water flooding the street, creating traffic delays in the evening.

Crews worked throughout Wednesday night to fix the pipe, according to Denver Water on Twitter. Crews took Colorado Boulevard between Kentucky and Mississippi avenues to one lane. Three businesses did not have access to water during the break and repairs, officials said.
