A 28-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to a Saturday night stabbing in Aurora.

Erica Kentrell Lamar Daniel, 28, has been charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, according to a news release from the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Daniel was advised of the charge Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in court Friday for a preliminary hearing.

Daniel is accused of fatally stabbing David Allen Cochran, 32, in the chest, the news release said. Aurora police responded to a 911 call from the apartment and found Cochran, who was lying on the floor and bleeding. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
