OK, you can’t adopt this adorable African lion cub. You can’t even pick him up and cuddle him.

The Denver zoo is proposing three names for its new male lion cub.

But you can help name him while also raising money for the care of the lions at the Denver Zoo and in the wild. The zoo has narrowed the selection to three names: Meru, a mountain in Tanzania; Moremi, a game reserve in Botswana; and Tatu, the Swahili word for the number three.

The was born July 25 to mom Neliah, 7, and dad Tobias, 3. It’s Neliah’s third cub. Half of Africa’s lions have disappeared in the past 25 years and the species is threatened by poaching, loss of prey and habitat destruction, according to the zoo.
