The Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance plans to welcome two southern white rhinos this fall, the zoo announced in a . These rhinos will be the first of their species to call the Denver Zoo home in the zoo’s 130-year-history.
The southern white rhinos, coming from other organizations accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, are native to southern and parts of eastern Africa, according to the zoo. They spend much of their time grazing on grass.
The zoo’s announcement did not specify an exact arrival date, nor did it say where in the zoo the animals would live.
