Full harvest moon. Friday the 13th. Clear skies.
Weather conditions will be ideal for getting an unimpeded view of the giant glowing celestial orb perched in the skies above Denver Friday night, according to the forecast by the National Weather Service in Boulder.
“For the full moon tonight, we should have good viewing weather. We’re going to have clear skies in Denver,” NWS meteorologist Natalie Sullivan said. “It could be a little chilly.”
Temperatures will be in the low-to-mid 60s when the moon will be full above Denver, Sullivan said. That will be about 10:35 p.m., the Old Farmer’s Almanac said. Light westerly winds between 5 to 7 mph are expected, the NWS said.
This particular – Friday the 13th occurring under a full moon – is rare. It happens only about once every 20 years, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
Itap the last full moon in summer before the autumnal equinox, NWS meteorologist Kyle Fredin said.
