The troubled star was fantastic early for New England, wasting no time becoming ’s favorite target, including scoring his first Patriots touchdown in the first half against Miami.
Brown’s fourth catch of the game went for a 20-yard touchdown as he grabbed Brady’s pass while deftly tapping his feet down just inside the side of the end zone.

Brown entered on the game’s second play amid a mixture of cheers and boos in Miami and quickly turned in an 18-yard catch from Brady. Brown then wound up being Brady’s only target during New England’s opening drive as he caught three passes for 36 yards before Sony Michel’s 1-yard touchdown run.

Making his Patriots debut while wearing No. 17, things went better for Brown once he got to the field Sunday. ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported early Sunday that while Brown was with the Raiders he had been engaged in settlement talks with his former trainer who had accused him of sexual assault. His former trainer reportedly was seeking a $2 million payment.
The NFL Networks reported against the one-time Steelers star.
Brown had been negotiating a monetary settlement with the trainer since April, shortly after the Raiders acquired the All-Pro from the Steelers, according to ESPN. In addition, Brown reportedly had a deadline of last Sunday night to sign the monetary deal that would end the trainer’s civil lawsuit against him.
Antonio Brown entered into settlement discussions in April, which included mediation in May, culminating in a deadline last Sunday night to sign a monetary agreement that would end the sexual assault claims against him. He chose not to sign it.
