Adams County sheriff’s deputies investigating a report of a burning vehicle on Monday discovered a dead body inside it, authorities said.
Witnesses called 911 around 5 p.m. about a vehicle fire near Clayton Street and East 74th Avenue, according to news release by Sgt. Paul Gregory, spokesman for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived at the scene they found a body inside the smoldering vehicle, the news release said.
The identity, gender and age of the dead person has not been released.
“Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses,” the news release said. “The investigation is preliminary and ongoing.”
