Nolan Arenado has been a model of consistency for the Rockies over the years. A Gold Glove in every season since his rookie year, a Silver Slugger award in each of the past four. But one stat has him above every third baseman in the history of the game.
In each of the last five seasons, he has crushed at least 37 home runs and drove in 110 runs batted in. No other major league third baseman has accomplished that feat so many times.
According to , players who spent at least 75% of the season at third base have matched those numbers just 32 times. Three — former Rockies all-star Vinny Castilla, and Hall of Famers Eddie Mathews and Mike Schmidt — reached those marks three times apiece. Four others did it twice.
