Mitchell couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Alamosa squad, losing by a score of 56-2.
Alamosa quarterback Brendon Madril led the passing attack with 156 yards through the air, throwing three touchdowns and one interception. Madril also added one touchdown on the ground. Alamosa’s leading receiver was Ian Jackson, who caught three passes for 69 yards. Brenden Crowther got in on the action in the passing game as well, reeling in three passes for 62 yards.
Luke Smith lead the Alamosa ground game by accumulating 60 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 12 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Alamosa heading to play Lamar and Mitchell taking on Pueblo County.
