Sand Creek couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Hinkley squad, losing by a score of 46-14 on Thursday.
Hinkley quarterback Xavier Starks led the passing attack with 77 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns without an interception. Starks also added 125 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Hinkley’s leading receiver was Jerry Taylor, who caught five passes for 50 yards and one score.
In addition to Xavier Starks’ effort, Ty’ren Draper lead the Hinkley rushing attack by racking up 91 yards in the game, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Richard Taylor added 64 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 9.1 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Hinkley hosting George Washington and Sand Creek taking on Pueblo Central.
