Fort Morgan lost by a single touchdown in a 35-28 contest against Conifer on Saturday.

J.R. Hart led Conifer’s passing attack with 254 yards through the air, tossing three touchdowns and one interception. Sam Horneck lead all Conifer receivers with five receptions for 113 yards and two scores.

Noah Wagner lead the Conifer ground game by accumulating 181 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 10.1 yards per carry. Wagner also tacked on 75 receiving yards. Sam Dunivan added 66 yards on the ground, averaging 9.4 yards per carry, as well as 44 receiving yards.

Briggs Wheatley led Fort Morgan’s passing attack with 163 yards through the air. Wheatley also added 159 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Jacob Ortega lead all Fort Morgan receivers with five receptions for 73 yards.

In addition to Wheatley’s effort, Frank Ortega lead the Fort Morganrushing game by racking up 13 yards in the game.

Looking ahead to their next games, Fort Morgan will stay home and play Northfield, while Conifer will travel to play Skyview.
