Genoa-Hugo earned a win when they defeated Hanover 50-38 on Saturday.

Colby Simmons led Genoa-Hugo’s passing attack with 53 yards through the air. Simmons also added 156 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Simmons’ most reliable receiver in the ballgame was Kyler Rowden-Stum, who caught four passes for 41 yards and one score.

Genoa-Hugo’s ground attack was lead by Kaenon Gossett and his 29 yards on five carries.

Hanover quarterback Dalton Sweazy led the passing attack with 177 yards through the air. Dalton Sweazy’s most relied on target in the game was Devin Johnson, who caught four passes for 72 yards and one score. Tyler Hofmann got involved in the passing game as well, hauling in two passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Magana lead all Hanover rushers with 76 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 5.1 yards per carry.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Genoa-Hugo heading to play Kiowa and Hanover taking on Edison.
