Pueblo West couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Pine Creek squad, losing by a score of 41-13 on Friday.
Gavin Herberg led Pine Creek’s passing attack with 201 yards through the air. Herberg also added 55 yards on the ground. Eddie Kyle lead all Pine Creek receivers with two receptions for 49 yards and one score.
David Moore III spearheaded the Pine Creek ground game by gaining 202 yards and four touchdowns in the contest, averaging 18.4 yards per carry. Spencer Peterson added 103 yards on the ground, averaging 11.4 yards per carry, as well as 31 receiving yards.
Chandler Mason led Pueblo West’s passing attack with 171 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Pueblo West’s leading receiver was Reece Bundy, who caught six passes for 62 yards. Alex Reid got involved in the passing game as well, hauling in five balls for 60 yards.
Jeremiah Sanchez paced all Pueblo West rushers with 93 yards in the game, averaging 7.8 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Pine Creek heading to play Palmer Ridge and Pueblo West taking on Liberty.
