Altitude will broadcast Thursday night’s Avalanche season opener but “the big three” — Comcast, Dish Network and DirecTV — won’t carry it unless the sides agree to a new contract by Thursday. The game will be available to fans with an NHL Center Ice subscription who live outside Colorado.
“Hopefully that will get worked out. I know on the business side, they’re working on trying to get that thing done. So hopefully that will work out tomorrow,” Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic said. “But we can only control what we control here, and that’s getting ready to hopefully have a great start to the year.”
