Cheyenne Mountain couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Air Academy squad, losing by a score of 44-6 on Friday, Sept. 27.
Sam Beers spearheaded the Air Academy ground game by gaining 195 yards and five touchdowns in the contest, averaging 7.5 yards per carry. Ethan Martin added 99 yards on the ground, averaging 16.5 yards per carry.
Caden Bellew powered Cheyenne Mountain’s passing attack with 96 yards through the air. Bellew also added one touchdown on the ground. Jackson Blaylock lead all Cheyenne Mountain receivers with two catches for 39 yards.
Nico Gagliardi paced all Cheyenne Mountain rushers with 45 yards in the game, averaging 5 yards per carry.
Next up for each team, Cheyenne Mountain will play host to Widefield, while Air Academy will travel to play Palmer.
