Air Academy handed Palmer their first loss in a narrow 30-28 victory on Thursday.

William Markworth led Air Academy’s passing attack with 80 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown without an interception. Air Academy’s leading receiver was Are’an Burr, who caught one pass for 72 yards and one score.

Sam Beers spearheaded the Air Academy rushing attack by gaining 265 yards and three touchdowns in the contest, averaging 15.6 yards per carry.

Palmer quarterback Carlos Moreno led the passing attack with 291 yards through the air, throwing three touchdowns and one interception. Jaiveon Kendrick was also Palmer’s leading receiver on the day. Kody Woods contributed in the passing game as well, grabbing one pass for 59 yards and one touchdown. Palmer also got 50 yards receiving and one touchdown from Robert Clarke in the contest.

Kendrick lead all Palmer rushers with 102 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 10.2 yards per carry. Kendrick also tacked on 64 receiving yards.

Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Air Academy hosting Coronado and Palmer taking on Mesa Ridge.
