Buena Vista couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Centauri squad, losing by a score of 37-0 on Friday, Sept. 27.

Centauri quarterback Eric Maez led the passing attack with 164 yards through the air. Mason Claunch was also Centauri’s leading receiver on the day.

Centauri’s rushing game was spearheaded by Claunch who racked up 113 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 16.1 yards per carry. Claunch also tacked on 74 receiving yards and one touchdown. Zach Buhr added 65 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 9.3 yards per carry.

Kaden Mcfee paced the Buena Vista rushing attack by racking up 62 yards in the game. Brandan Cattell added 52 yards on the ground, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Centauri heading to play Center and Buena Vista taking on St. Mary’s.
