Genoa-Hugo beat Hanover by a score of 50-38 on Saturday.
Colby Simmons powered Genoa-Hugo’s passing attack with 53 yards through the air. Simmons also added 156 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Kyler Rowden-Stum lead all Genoa-Hugo receivers with four catches for 41 yards and one score.
In addition to Simmons’ effort, Kaenon Gossett lead the Genoa-Hugo ground attack by accumulating 29 yards in the game, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Hanover quarterback Dalton Sweazy led the passing attack with 177 yards through the air. Hanover’s leading receiver was Devin Johnson, who caught four passes for 72 yards and one score. Tyler Hofmann got in on the action in the passing game as well, reeling in two balls for 51 yards and two touchdowns.
Hanover’s ground game was paced by Josh Magana who accrued 76 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 5.1 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Genoa-Hugo heading to play Kiowa and Hanover taking on Edison.
