Sand Creek couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Hinkley squad, losing by a score of 46-14 on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Aurora Public Schools Stadium, Football Field.
Hinkley quarterback Xavier Starks led the aerial attack with 77 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns with no interceptions. Starks also added 125 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Jerry Taylor lead all Hinkley receivers with five receptions for 50 yards and one score.
Hinkley’s rushing attack was lead by Ty’ren Draper and his 91 yards on 15 carries. Richard Taylor added 64 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 9.1 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Hinkley hosting George Washington and Sand Creek taking on Pueblo Central.
