Alamosa couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Lamar squad, losing by a score of 48-25 on Friday, Sept. 27.

Zane Rankin led Lamar’s passing attack with 103 yards through the air. Rankin also added 31 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Lamar’s leading receiver was Blake Buxton, who caught three passes for 67 yards and two scores.

Walker Kee lead the Lamar ground attack by racking up 180 yards and two touchdowns in the contest, averaging 16.4 yards per carry.

Brendon Madril powered Alamosa’s passing attack with 227 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns and four interception. Madril also added 37 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Alamosa’s leading receiver was Brenden Crowther, who caught eight passes for 128 yards and one score.

Alamosa’s rushing attack was paced by Luke Smith who accrued 45 yards in the contest.

Alamosa will stay home and play Bayfield, while Lamar will travel to play The Classical Academy.
