Overland earned a win when they defeated Fountain-Fort Carson 29-21 on Friday, Sept. 27.
Martavia “Mark” Thrower led Overland’s passing attack with 194 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns and one interception. Thrower’s favorite receiver in the game was Kamari Brown, who caught seven passes for 60 yards. Brown contributed in the passing game as well, hauling in seven passes for 60 yards. Overland also got 50 yards receiving from Jawan Lacour in the contest.
Smoov Roper (jaheim) spearheaded the Overland ground game by running for 130 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 10 yards per carry. Roper (jaheim) also tacked on 30 receiving yards.
Tavian Tuli powered Fountain-Fort Carson’s passing attack with 180 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns and two interception. Dezmen Oliver was also Fountain-Fort Carson’s leading receiver on the day.
Fountain-Fort Carson’s ground game was paced by Oliver who racked up 62 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Oliver also tacked on 55 receiving yards and one touchdown. Malik Mcclarity added 61 yards on the ground, averaging 6.8 yards per carry.
In their next games, Overland will stay home and play Cherry Creek, while Fountain-Fort Carson will travel to play Legend.
