Basalt easily defeated Moffat County by a score of 49-7 on Friday, Oct. 4.
Basalt quarterback Matty Gillis led the aerial attack with 141 yards through the air. Gillis also added 87 yards on the ground. Matty Gillis’ favorite target in the game was Jackson Rappaport, who caught seven passes for 100 yards.
Gavin Webb paced all Basalt rushers with 94 yards and four touchdowns in the game, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
Moffat County quarterback Ryan Peck led the passing attack with 149 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Dario Alexander lead all Moffat County receivers with seven receptions for 106 yards.
Kevin Hernandez paced all Moffat County rushers with 41 yards in the contest, averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Hernandez also tacked on one receiving touchdown.
Moffat County will play host to Aspen, while Basalt will travel to play Coal Ridge.
