Centauri easily handled Monte Vista by a score of 56-7 on Friday, Oct. 11.
Eric Maez powered Centauri’s passing attack with 87 yards through the air. Maez also added one touchdown on the ground. Maez’s most relied on target in the ballgame was Peyton Polzin, who caught one pass for 25 yards.
Centauri’s ground game was spearheaded by Taj Cornum who ran for 121 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 15.1 yards per carry.
Kaidon Wenta paced the Monte Vista rushing attack by running for 133 yards in the game, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Centauri heading to play Dolores and Monte Vista taking on Ignacio.
