Highlands Ranch handed ThunderRidge their first loss in a narrow 21-18 victory on Friday, Oct. 11 at Shea Stadium.
Highlands Ranch quarterback Jake Rubley led the aerial attack with 122 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Jake Rubley’s most relied on target in the game was Tommy Ver Straate, who caught one pass for 56 yards.
Dylan Gurule paced the Highlands Ranch ground game by running for 142 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Kole Lundquist added 51 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
ThunderRidge quarterback Brent Huber led the passing attack with 91 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns with no interceptions. Huber also added 42 yards on the ground. Chris Franquemont lead all ThunderRidge receivers with five catches for 72 yards and two scores.
Lucas Fish spearheaded the ThunderRidge rushing attack by finishing with 124 yards in the game, averaging 5.9 yards per carry.
Highlands Ranch will play host to Castle View, while ThunderRidge will travel to play Rock Canyon.
