Air Academy defeated Coronado by a score of 34-20 on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Sam Beers lead the Air Academy rushing attack by accumulating 224 yards and three touchdowns in the game, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Cole Edmondson added 66 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 11 yards per carry.
Gabe Chapel led Coronado’s aerial attack with 132 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Kensley Smith lead all Coronado receivers with one reception for 33 yards and one score.
Christian Wales spearheaded the Coronado ground game by finishing with 75 yards in the contest, averaging 7.5 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Air Academy heading to play Widefield and Coronado taking on Pueblo West.
