La Veta came back from a 13-point deficit to win by a score of 63-57 on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Ian Vallejos led La Veta’s aerial attack with 138 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions. Shawn DeTray lead all La Veta receivers with three catches for 45 yards.

Isaac Gonzales spearheaded the La Veta rushing attack by finishing with 63 yards and three touchdowns in the game, averaging 7 yards per carry. Gage Eddleman added 60 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 5 yards per carry, as well as 29 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with La Veta heading to play Manzanola and Cripple Creek-Victor taking on Mountain Valley.

Cripple Creek-Victor has not reported any team or player statistics from this contest.
