Calhan couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Swink squad, losing by a score of 38-12 on Friday, Oct. 11 at Swink High School Football Field.
Matthew Mendoza spearheaded the Swink ground game by running for 294 yards and three touchdowns in the game, averaging 8.9 yards per carry. Eli Suiters added 170 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 9.4 yards per carry. Noah Zumwalt contributed 136 yards and one touchdown, averaging 15.1 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Swink hosting Simla and Calhan taking on Elbert.
