
Oysterhead, the jam-band supergroup of guitarist Trey Anastasio (Phish), bassist Les Claypool (Primus) and drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police), will reunite for a pair of shows in Broomfield early next year.
The band announced the Feb. 14-15 concerts at the FirstBank Center on Tuesday as part of its Freestyle Sessions Gathering. More dates are expected to come soon, , given that the group also launched its first-ever Instagram and Twitter presence today.
The band only has one album — 2007’s “The Grand Pecking Order” — and last performed live at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in 2006 in Manchester, Tenn.
Tickets to the all-ages sets are on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 via by visiting the Pepsi Center and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park box offices the following business day (Monday, Oct. 21), pending availability.
Tickets are $80 each. A note on ticketmaster.com adds the disclaimer, “Delivery delay in place until Nov. 4, 2019.”
Expect tickets to go quickly, both because Colorado is and because an informal survey of online chatter reveals lots of potential out-of-state visitors coming in for this one.
