Gateway couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Ponderosa squad, losing by a score of 42-7 on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Aurora Public Schools Stadium (Aurora, CO).

Jack Hanenburg powered Ponderosa’s passing attack with 118 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns and one interception. Hanenburg also added 54 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Joe Hufford lead all Ponderosa receivers with two receptions for 56 yards and two scores.

Ponderosa’s rushing attack was lead by Cael Porter who tallied 150 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 12.5 yards per carry.

Erick Covington led Gateway’s passing attack with 213 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Covington also added 56 yards on the ground. Maliq Alford lead all Gateway receivers with four catches for 108 yards and one score.

Rj Webster spearheaded the Gateway ground game by finishing with 117 yards in the contest, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Ponderosa hosting Aurora Central and Gateway taking on Montrose.
